HOW ISOMETRICS STARTED
In the twelfth century, Bodhidharma who was a well-known Buddhist monk that developed a system called Yi Jin Jing that focused of twelve basic tensing exercises. Bodhidharma is credited for bringing the Yi Jin Jing to the monks of the Shaolin Temple in China. Variations of these isometric exercises were also then adopted by other martial arts such as Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and Ki Gong. These isometric exercises and variations of them are still used by athletes and trainers all around the world.
