Foods that cause ANXIETY!
The National Institute of Mental Health estimates that about 30% of Americans will experience an anxiety disorder at some point in their lives. Anxiety is characterized by feelings of tension, worry, difficulty settling down, and recurring concerns, and can cause physical symptoms such as dizziness, rapid heartbeat, sweating, trembling, or increased blood pressure.
Parade reports that certain foods, including tacos from fast food chains, can actually trigger anxiety. Susan Albers, a psychologist at Cleveland Clinic, warns against consuming foods high in sodium, such as tacos, pretzels, and frozen meals, as excess salt intake can increase blood pressure and worsen anxiety. Other culprits include soda, energy drinks, fruit juices, alcohol, and processed foods. Foods that contain refined sugar can also contribute to anxiety.
