What is a YIELDING ISOMETRIC EXERCISE?

An yielding isometric exercise is a type of strength training exercise that involves holding a static position against resistance without movement. In this exercise, the muscles are contracted, but the joint angle remains fixed, and there is no change in muscle length.

For example, a common yielding isometric exercise is the plank, in which a person assumes a push-up position and holds their body in a straight line, with their forearms and toes supporting their weight. Another example is a wall sit, in which a person sits against a wall with their knees bent at a 90-degree angle and holds the position for a set amount of time.

Yielding isometric exercises are beneficial for building strength and improving muscle endurance. They can also be used to rehabilitate injured muscles and joints, as they allow for targeted muscle contractions without placing stress on the joints.
